There are thousands of unique hijab styles to explore but i will list down my personal favourites. The first hijab category is called The classic that suits all face shapes. It consists of two styles:

  • The Everyday Wrap – This is the most famous hijab styles and it is widely used around the world due to its simple way to tie. You can do this by crossing one long end of the hijab over the shorter one and wrap it around your head loosely and gives you extra coverage. Rectangular scarfs with chiffon and satin fabrics works best for this style.
  • The Casual Chic – This style is very simple and elegant with the front strands hanging loose to give you and extra coverage and a great overall look. All you have to do is place the hijab and frame it around your face, keeping one side slightly longer than the other. Pin the hijab under your neck and wrap the long side around keeping both strands out. Rectangular scarfs with chiffon and satin fabrics also works best for this style.

Next category is The voluminous. This is for whoever likes to give their face extra volume with layers and suits all face shapes.

  • The Side Twist – This style is a great way to embody a volume look due to its many folds making look great if you wear glasses. Frame the hijab on your face with one side shorter than the other, then wrap the shorter side over your head backwards, and take the longer side around your head over the shorter end. Any type of fabric suits this hijab style so you don’t have to worry about it.

Third is The Turban. This style is used in many cultures with its colourful scarfs with patterns used around Africa and pleated styles widespread in Asia.

  • The Side Knot – This style is depending on the fabric you choose. Light weight fabrics like silk or viscose are a great choice to give you a simple and relaxed effect while bulkier fabrics will give you more volume and drama. This style suits square and round faces with strong jaws. Put your hijab over your head covering your ears, and bring both the sides to one side of your ear and tie them together.
  • The Refined Turban – This style gives you a more glamorous and a sophisticated  look due to its symmetrical style. You could rock this style while dressing up for an evening dinner or a casual day look. All types of fabrics can be used for this style and it suits best those who have square & round faces. Cross the two sides of the scarf backwards and take one tail and wrap it in front of your head to the back of your neck and tuck it in. Repeat again for the other side.
