The great thing about fashion is that it can brighten up your day based on the colours you choose to wear, and i am here to give you a guide on how to master the art of colour mixing to create your own looks and embrace your spiritual colours.

First thing first, you need to know how the colour wheel works in order for you to try attractive colour pairings that will compliment one another.

The natural and usual colours that we all know are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violent and indigo. And in order for you to know which colour will suit you best and get the perfect outfit look, they should be in harmony with each other. I will list below my favourite ways on how to compliment these colours and choose what suits you best.

Monochromatic colour schemes

Monochromatic colours are based on single lead colours with different shades or wearing separates of one colour or with the same colour hue for an overall look. This will give you a simple and a clean look while putting outfits together.

The all maroon outfit is super simple and dressy at the same time which made the model look really chic. The bag choice has a very subtle pattern to it which is a shade lighter than her outfit to balance out the look and make it easy for the eye.

An all nude colour outfit dressed by a well known model Gigi Hadid is a nice idea to look sophisticated since nude and beige outfits are becoming a trend nowadays. Having a mix of all nudes and neutral colours will give you a is a classy and a ladylike look and at the same time looking clean and fresh.

Analogues

Analogues are a group of colours are next to each other or similar in the colour wheel with one colour being the dominant colour and the other as the tertiary colour. Examples of these colours are Red and orange or orange and yellow.

The combinations of analogue colours are very simple and highly elegant. while choosing analogue colours, it is best suggested if the combination of colours have contrast between them through their shades, tints and tones so that the outfit does not look overwhelming.  To do so, choose a vibrant colour for the part you want to spice up in your outfit like either your top or the accessory you would be wearing. The hot pink blazer is a great look for you if you want to draw attention with a pop of colour combined with a warm toned pink baggy trouser and a statement bag of your choice. These colours gave the look more depth and worth the stare.

Complimentary Colours

Complimentary colours are colours that are in the opposite direction of each other in the colour wheel. The high contrast of these colours will help you create a vibrant look that will draw the eye. Although they are tricky to choose, but it will make your outfit stand out once you figure out how to choose the prefect complimentary colours for your look.

The colours of these two outfits worn by Solange Knowles and a runway model have a very strong hue that gravitates the eyes due to their strong and pop of colour. This is fun to do as you get to play around with different fun and vibrant colours and the outcome of the different chosen colours will have different effects on each other,

I encourage you to go all out experimenting with different colour combinations following my guide to create your own style and identity and be confident in it.

“Every colour tries to make the colours around it look as different from it as possible,” Cooperman says.
